Section 2 Class 2: RSS Feeds

January 19, 2011 - RSS Feeds

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS is a web feed, or a data format used for providing users with frequently updated content or works including blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video.

Reflection Question:
Reflect on ways you can introduce RSS in the classroom or on how RSS can help you as an educator?

  1. Okay, I have waited to post to this because it hasn't really been clear how I would use RSS Feeds in my classroom. I am still not really sure. It seems a bit much to hook up my class of sixth graders so they can have access to it. On the other hand, I do see some usefulness as a teacher. I can find information that I could use in my classroom and just keep caught up on what is going on in the world. My only challenge is that there is so much out there that I need my own personal filter to tell me what is worthwhile.

  2. D: I respect the fact that you are very cautious about what you post on the internet. Thanks for posting on the blog. I think using Delicious could be a bit much trying to use with ur 6th graders. However, I think it is a good tool to use with your team.
