I see myself using the time line for places in Draper, so we can see how farmland has changed into residential and commercial use. Also, use the time line to show how the rain forest has changed. As students do their cultural doll report, I would like to have them use Google Earth to research where they came from. This would make so much more real. Another way I could use it would be to show a place in Africa. Students would have to use the geological features to decide where they would settle. Since I have to teach rotation of the earth and the moon in science, I would use the earth sunrise feature and the moon features.
Indy: I like your idea of using the time line in google earth to show how Draper has evolved into a city. I think they would get a better perspective seeing pictures of the "old" Draper when it was a rural area. I also liked the moon features that GE shows and I think it will be a good resource as you teach about rotation of the earth and moon. Thanks for your comments!
