The following is the link to view tonight's class since our Elementary teachers have parent-teacher conferences tonight. Good luck teachers!
Please comment on your thoughts about Digital Storytelling and how you can use it effectively in your classroom.
FYI-- There is no link for me to watch. However, I will go to the IT site and watch the information there and looked at some of the sample links.
ReplyDeleteFor the past few weeks, my students have written and typed a fractured fairy tale, drawn pictures, taken pictures of their stories. Using Garageband, they have downloaded their pictures and have begun to record their story. This process has been slowed by not having microphone/headphones for students to use. Thus I have one or two students in the hallway recording.
Now I will go watch the info on the IT site to see how I can improve and how to utilize digital storytelling better.

Having watched many examples, I can see how different ways in which to use it in my classroom. I especially like the personal narratives by elementary students. The easy part is probably ways to incorporate digital storytelling in the classroom and with different subjects. The difficult part is how to get access to enough computer time to create such projects. I think for this year, the fractured fairy tales will be enough. :)

I couldn't figure out how to access the movie link either. I glanced at the IT site but will look more closely now. I like the comments that Indy said. I agree that when you have a whole class trying to create something that uses a microphone it is difficult because of background noise. I will add that my students have loved creating poems in Comic Life and doing Egypt Raps with Garage Band and even doing power points. I look forward with trepidation to doing movies.
